Straightening a Coiled Fly Line
By A. Sayward Lamb
If your fly line
remains coiled when you remove it from the fly reel,
simply pick up the fly line with both hands at least a
couple of feet apart. Then extend your arms in front of
you so that you can tighten the line with force. Then
stretch that length of fly line as tightly as you can.
Keep repeating this process for the whole distance of
where the fly line is coiled. Stretching will straighten
out the coils, making it easier to cast and retrieve
your line. |
