Special Meeting in
Belgrade Lakes on May 18, 2006
A public meeting
will be held on May 18th at 6:30 PM
at the Belgrade Center for All Seasons on Route 27
in Belgrade Lakes to discuss winter ice fishing regulations
for Long Pond.
The purpose of the meeting is
to:
1) Discuss findings regarding
the impact of winter fishing on the northern pike
population in Long Pond and,
2) Get public input about
future management of the species throughout the
Belgrade chain of lakes. The current MDIFW proposal
is to continue to allow ice fishing at Long Pond AND
to remove any current bag and length limits on pike
in the other waters in the Belgrade watershed.
